Saku Koistinen approaches the art of dance from a philosophic yet physical viewpoint - the questions of existence, time and death. He studies his world with a warm touch and dry humor.

Recently, he has become increasingly interested in working outdoors. Works such as Forest Ballet or Bird Disco (a collaboration with media artist Pasi Autio) are both different types of original forest/outdoors works.

In 2023, Koistinen created  a new piece combining forest dance, music and slapstick comedy called SLAP!
